BEnD Pilates and Holistic Health is a beautiful, quiet, and fully equipped Pilates Studio. We offer Private and semi-private equipment based Pilates instruction.  We also offer a full schedule of Pilates Mat classes, and Yoga classes as well.

The Pilates Method

Pilates has changed my life, now its time to let it change yours!  Pilates is a method of exercise that builds muscle strength without bulk, it increases flexibility and can prevent injury.  Pilates is a useful tool in rehabilitating injuries, gaining strength after surgery, and recovering from child birth.  As a teacher my goal is to create a program specific to each individual.  I feel that it is very important to continually asses each client and create a program that will help each person reach goals, and gain healthy strength and flexibility.  Pilates is a great way to maintain alignment and strength before, during, and after pregnancy.  Pilates was a crucial part of my pregnancy and getting back to health after my son was born.  This work is gentle and specific, and can be adapted to all stages of pregnancy and postpartum life.  Staying strong throughout my pregnancy helped me to enjoy it and feel comfortable to the end!  I work with people of all ages and abilities.  I encourage you to contact me today for a consultation.  I am sure this work will change your life and create balance and strength that will give you confidence and vitality.

Eating dinner as a family creates time for you and your loved ones to have a peaceful moment within your day.  Create an environment that is without distraction, welcoming to all members of the family, and help everyone to participate in some way to create the meal.  Doing this with children will instill good eating habits, and it will give them a platform to communicate with adults as well as peers.  The art of making a meal,eating a meal and having moments that are free of distraction are a lost art in the busy lives of families these days!  Make this a priority and you will be thrilled with the result.

If you live alone this does not exclude you!  You need to give yourself the time to cook, and eat meals without distraction.  Meal time is not the time to be catching up on unfinished work, listening or watching the news, or browsing the internet.  Give yourself the time!

 

Eating this way will allow you to eat slower, enjoy your food, and digest properly.  It is also a way for those of you that have families to connect and stay involved in each other's lives!
